I always like the idea of a zippo, but the ones I would see on display at the smoke shop have the Applica's, which, to me, look tacky. Then I saw the 1935 vintage on Amazon. Being a younger baby boomer, I've always like vintage, whether mid-century or art deco. This had a very film noir look that I fell in love with. While waiting for delivery I noticed the classic with the vertical lines, and I liked the look of that too. I then noticed some of the reviews on the 1935 vintage and saw complaints that it did make the clicks and couldn't be used with one hand. I started to regret my order. Well serendipity played it's hand and when it arrived, they had sent me the wrong lighter. They sent a classic with the vault engraving. I found that I didn't care of the size and shape, and it felt heavy. I did a return/replace, and the very next day the correct one arrived. But this gave me the chance to compare the vintage to the classic. The shape and size (it's a bit shorter) and weight of the 1935 vintage were perfect. I made the right choice. It makes the clicks, though the opening click has a very slightly different sound, with a tad less ping. I was able to open and close with one hand from the first attempt, even though I had spilled lighter fluid on my fingers. I'm delighted with my choice!
